You can find these products here I’ve been hearing a lot about ‘cica’ lately in the skincare world. Its a plant called Centella Asiatica. It has been eaten and used as a medicinal herb in Asia for years. Its now being used as a “miracle ingredient” in skincare products.
Cica is full of nutrients such as amino acids, beta-carotene, fatty acids and vitamins C, A, B1, B2, niacin and carotene
So what does it do ?
*soothes irritated skin
*believed that Cica helps to repair and protect the skin barrier *brightens and moisturizes your skin.
I have noticed that my skin looks bright & healthy . My skin also looks clear , feels really soft, & hydrated .

Step 1: Cleanser
This cleanser smells medicinal/spa like because of Eucalyptus. It cleanses skin well without stripping my skin .
Step 2: Toner
This isn’t harsh on skin at all. It helps soothes skin & feel really refreshing after applying it. I use it morning & night. It doesnt dry out skin & has no scent. Leave skin look clear & healthy.
Step 3: Serum
Absorbs nicely into skin. It didnt leave my skin sticky or tacky. The formula is light weight. Adds hydration while leaving skin soft. This has a dropper and it works very well. I have no issues getting the product.
Step 4: Cream
Light weight formula that left my skin hydrated , soft, & healthy looking while protecting my skin’s barrier.
TREATMENTS:
Cica Powder: Multi-purpose Cica Powder can be mixed in various skincare products to calm the skin. This leaves skin with a matte like or velvety finish. You can add it to your serum or moistuizer. Mix slowly because it doesnt stay in place.

Calming True Sheet Mask This soothing mask is formulated with Centella extracts to calm sensitive skin.
Cica Pads:

Good to treat stressed, reddened, or irritated skin. These are like sheet masks but a smaller shape. Delivers hydration to the skin, leaving it soft and supple. While also soothing skin and has a refreshing cooling effect. Fortifies the skin’s moisture barrier Pads are eco-friendly and made from biodegradable materials

Summer Kick Off Vox Box

Influenster sent me a box full of goodies to kick off the Summer….though Summer is almost ending .  I love in Florida and Summer is all year long… ok maybe we have a week of “Winter” lol

C’EST MOI Gentle Foaming Cleansing Gel 

This facial wash is fragrance free which I love. Its also gentle on the skin.Its lightly foaming formula contains organic aloe, calendula and extracts of strawberry, kiwi and apple to help condition and nourish the complexion, leaving skin clean, calm and balanced. My skin felt good & clean after washing my face ( I used it nightly) and my face didn’t feel tight or dry.

 

Shea Moisture

My legs & body have been super soft & hydrated using this Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter lotion . It has myrrh & frakincense and I love how it smells ! My legs are ready for shorts and dresses all year round!

 

 

Mrs Meyers Body Wash

Squeaky clean & smelling great thanks to these Mrs. Meyer’s clean day body washes. I think out of the 3, the rain water scent is my favorite. It reminded me of Summer days getting ready to play outside all day.  It put me in a good mood and smelled oh so good.

 

Tend Skin

While I didn’t necessarily have a need for this just yet, I did apply after shaving my bikini area just as a precaution before weekend beach time . Just be careful because it will sting a little ..oops!

 

Impress Nails

I love this elegant style with a fun accent nail. I haven’t used these because my job requires me to constantly use my nails and Im sure they would pop off.  I have heard great things about these in the past though . They have so many styles to choose from which is great.  Everything from elegant to bright & bold.

What I’ve been cooking

 

Tortellini with Pesto & Roasted veggies

I found this via Pinterest on Cooking Classy

Ingredients: 

• zucchini
• squash
• bell pepper
• red onion
• mushrooms
• grape tomatoes
• olive oil
• garlic
• salt & pepper
• tortellini w/ cheese
• spinach
• pesto ( homemade or bought)

PESTO

•  I used about an 8-10 oz bag of spinach
• 2-3 cloves of garlic
• 1/2 parmesan cheese
• 1/2 cup cashews
• 1/4- 1/2 cup olive oil
• salt & pepper
• juice 2 lemons lemon juice
• basil

Blend well . When  adding lemon juice , taste it as you add

Cook tortellini – add to big bowl

Cut and drizzle oil on veggie ( zucchini, squash, bell pepper, onion and mushrooms) on a baking sheet . Bake on 425 for 10 minutes

Add tomatoes & garlic . Bake another 10 minutes

Add spinach for one minute.

Add roasted vegetables too tortellini. Pour pesto on top. Mix.

 

Chicken, broccoli, & grape tomatoes

 

• Chicken
• grape tomatoes
• broccoli
• Mccormicks garlic herb & wine marinade

Place in oven, cook until  done

Pepper taco bowl

• Bell Pepper ( your choice)
• ground beef, turkey, chicken ( your choice)
• cheese
• black beans
• tomatoes
• taco seasoning

I mix the meat, tomatoes, black beans, taco seasoning and cook until done.

Scoop mixture into bell pepper , sprinkle with cheese.  Cook in oven . You can even put the pepper in the oven beforehand to get it started.

 

Baked artichoke & Sun-dried chicken

• 15oz artichoke
• Chicken
• sun-dried tomatoes
• spinach
• mozzarella cheese
• zucchini
• tomatoes
• garlic

Chicken stir ( a go to for me)

Chicken Feta Spinach Meatballs with Zucchini

 

I received a new kitchen tool and wanted to use it. I messed up a little bit because I realized the tool is mostly for shredding. I thought I could use it to get zucchini noofles but got shreds instead. Oops! lol Still tasted great though. Will be making these again.

Ingredients:

• Spinach
• garlic 3 minced
• olive oil
• feta cheese about 4-5 oz
• 1lb ground chicken
• 1 egg
• panko bread crumbs
• salt & pepper 1/4 teaspoon
• oregano 2-3 tablespoons
• 1 lemon ( squeezed)
• butter ( 1 tablespoon)
• red pepper flakes ( just a pinch or more if you love it)
• zucchini ( made into zoodles)

Preheat oven to 400 F.  Add parchment paper to baking sheet.

Combine ground chicken, garlic, salt , pepper, olive oil,  feta, spinach,panko, oregano, egg. Mix well and form small meatballs. Place on sheet ad bake until done 20-25 minutes.

Make zoodles. In pan low-medium heat add butter & olive oil.  Add red pepper flakes & garlic for 1 minute.  Stir in lemon juice. Toss in zoodles and coat. Cook until tender. ( 5 minutes)

Add zoodles to plate/ bowl . Place meatballs on top. Sprinkle with more feta if desired. lemon, feta, red pepper flakes…  Loved the flavor. It was filling, refreshing, light. I brought some for lunch .

Dinner Ideas

One Pan Cream Spinach & Artichoke Chicken 

Loved this dish. Not only is it a one pan dish but is cooked in 30 minutes!

• 6 Chicken breasts, boneless skinless
• 2 (15 ounce) cans Artichoke hearts

• 4 oz Baby spinach, fresh
• 4 cloves Garlic
• 1 Parsley, Fresh
• 2 Shallots

• 1/2 cup Chicken broth, low-sodium
• 2 tbsp Italian seasoning, dried
• 1 Salt + pepper
• 3 tbsp Olive oil
• 3 tbsp Butter
• 1 1/2 cup Half-and-half
• 1/2 cup Mozzarella
• 1/4 cup Parmesan

 

Roasted Chickpea & Broccoli Orzo Salad

I found this recipe from Refinery29. Love the roasted chickpeas in this.

Ingredients
1 small head of broccoli, cut into small florets
1 (15-ounce) can of chickpeas, rinsed and drained well
Juice and zest of one lemon (reserve 1-2 small wedges for serving)
1/2 tsp garlic powder (can use 2 cloves sliced, fresh garlic instead, but will cost slightly more)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
3 tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 cups uncooked orzo
Red-pepper flakes, for serving
Feta or Parmesan cheese, for serving, optional

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400ºF.

2. In a large bowl combine broccoli, chickpeas, lemon juice and zest, garlic, salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons of the olive oil. Toss to coat and pour onto a foil-lined baking sheet.

3. Roast broccoli and chickpeas for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.

4. While broccoli and chickpeas are roasting, boil orzo according to package directions. When the orzo is cooked, drain well and toss with the roasted broccoli and chickpeas and the remaining tablespoon of olive oil.

5. Add red-pepper flakes and cheese to taste, if using. Serve warm or refrigerate and serve cold.

One Pan Italian Sausage & Veggies

Really loving roasted broccoli!

 

• Carrots, sliced
• Red Potatoes, diced
• Zucchini, sliced and cut in half
• Red Bell Peppers, cut in bite sized pieces
• Broccoli, chopped
• Sausage
• 1/2 tablespoon EACH: dried basil, dried oregano, dried parsley, garlic powder
• 1/2 teaspoon EACH: onion powder, dried thyme
• Optional: Sprinkle with parmesan cheese

Preheat over to 400. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

Place everything on pan, Drizzle with seasoning and oil. Mix to coat. Cook for 40 minutes. Half way through mix.

 

• 15-MINUTE GARLIC BUTTER CHICKEN WITH PARMESAN CAULIFLOWER RICE

I found this on eatwell101.   So easy, quick, & flavorful!

 

 

The chicken

• 2 large boneless and skinless chicken breasts halved horizontally to make 4
• 1/2 cup fresh Parmesan, finely grated
• Salt and fresh cracked pepper
• 2 large cloves garlic, grated
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
• 4 tablespoons unsalted butter divided

• For the cauliflower rice:
• 3 cups riced cauliflower (about 1 medium head)
• 1/2 cup white onion, chopped
• 2 large cloves garlic minced
• 2 tablespoons veggie stock
• Juice of one lemon (+ zest, if you like)
• Red chili pepper flakes, optional
• 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

DIRECTIONS

The Chicken

1. In a shallow plate, combine parmesan cheese, grated garlic, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Season the chicken with salt and pepper; dredge in the parmesan mixture; shake off excess and set aside.

2. In a large skillet melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until golden on each side and cooked through – about 3-4 minutes for each side, depending on the thickness of your chicken. Transfer to a plate.

The cauliflower rice

1. In the same pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Fry the garlic and onion for 1 minute until fragrant — be careful not to burn.

2. Add the riced cauliflower to the skillet and stir to mix everything together well and coat in melted butter. Cook, stirring regularly for 1 minute.

3. Stir in the 2 tablespoons vegetable stock, about half the parsley, and lemon zest (if using). Cook for one minute to reduce juices then add the lemon juice and a few sprinkles of leftover parmesan cheese, if you like.

4. Adjust seasoning as needed. Stir in the remaining parsley. Return chicken over cauliflower rice and reheat quickly. Serve with fresh cracked black pepper, red chili pepper flakes, and more parmesan.

Nature Box shower gel with 100% cold pressed oil

This brand for skin & hair combines effective beauty care with cold pressed oils with select sustainably- sourced ingredients.  This shower gel  feels luxurious and lathered up nicely.  It smells good and didn’t dry out my skin. My skin felt silky soft. Even though it looks blue, the gel is actually clear.

Pretty Vulgar Faux Reals Extreme Volume Mascara

 

 

 

 

 

I got voluminous lashes in just one swipe with this mascara.  I use 1-2 coats , and haven’t noticed and flaking or smudging. I can see this could get clumpy if you add more coats or apply it a certain way. You can pick it up at Sephora.

My Thoughts:  These wipes are gentle on the skin which I liked and didn’t have a strong scent to them. I was able to get off my make up without have to scrub . My skin felt nice & clean without leaving my skin feel tight & dry.

I’m really enjoying using these products. My skin feel so supple , soft, & hydrated. They all absorbed quick and didn’t leave my skin greasy or tacky feeling. My skin looked and felt healthy. Plus they are easy to find in stores as well as affordable. Each had a pleasant scent ( minus the fragrance free)

The body gel was smooth and glided on. My skin felt hydrated and soft instantly. The whipped body balm was a little thicker and felt luxurious as I glided it into my skin.  My hands never felt softer with the hand cream. I liked that it absorbed quickly, especially on my hands since its hard for me to sit still. So I could easily do what I need to do after applying.
