Apply morning & night after cleansing face.

Final thoughts:

I love how light weight this formula is. It’s not as thick as you think when you think of a gel. It glides on smoothly and absorbs pretty quick.  It doesn’t leave skin sticky and doesn’t mess up any make up you put on top. My skin feels nourished, hydrated, smooth, soft, & healthy. I tried a small sample of the eye gel in the summer and liked it. I was happy that Crowdtap sent me a full sized product of the moisturizer because I was happy with the eye gel. I’ve been using it for about 2-3 weeks day & night & have liked the results.

The only con for me is that it comes in a jar. I prefer pumps because I feel like it keep the ingredients fresh & helps keep it from getting contaminated.

Empties 4- mini reviews

Empties

15 .Crest Pro-Health Advanced Mouthwash- I did a review on this not to long ago. I wasn’t a fan of the after taste. It messes with your taste buds ( even after an hour +) so food & drinks will taste odd. Perhaps if you are trying to lose weight it good help lol but I would not get this kind again.

16. Maxasorb B-12 cream: This is made in the USA & with natural ingredients. Its supposed to help promote energy levels & also helps with dry skin. As far as energy the peppermint in it did help wake me up a bit but it wore off quickly. It has coconut oil in it and leave skin really soft & absorbs nicely. It is $19.95 which is expensive for the 30 doses. Not worth it for me. This company does have a melatonin cream similar to this that is AMAZING! Both can be found on Amazon.

17. Align Probiotic supplement: Easy to take & swallow. No weird smell. Helps you stay regular and helps keep your digestive tract healthy. Thumbs up

18. Pantene Pro-V Ultimate 10 BB Creme: Love this stuff! You can use it on damp & dry hair. It repairs, strengthens, soft, shine, smooths, moisturizes, heat protection, tames fly-aways. Doesn’t weight hair down or leave hair sticky. Leaves hair really soft & healthy looking. I have a little sample container that I fill up with this so if I have any fly-aways mid-day I use this.

19. One A Day multivitamin: ughhh these took forever probably because I was bad at taking them daily. These were so huge which were a pain to swallow. So glad I am done. I wouldn’t get this kind again. I moved on to easy to take gummy vitamins.

20. Caudalie Premier Cru The Elixir: Wasn’t sure what to expect with this dry oil. It is $99 for .98 oz. so don’t see myself running to buy it. I really enjoyed the sample though. My skin felt nourished & soft after applying. It also absorbed quickly & didn’t leave skin greasy or oily.

21. Maybelline FitMe Foundation: One of my favorite foundations. The color matches my skin tone well. It blends nicely, gives a nice sheer coverage which I want. I also like that it doesn’t feel like I have foundation on my face. Plus it has SPF18

22. Rimmel Scandaleye Rockin Curves Mascara: Like the tube, formula, brush. It has a curved brush that helps lift, volumize , lengthens, and get the smaller lashes. I do wish it separated lashes a little better. Its around $7-$8 which is average. Also no flaking!

23. Murad Transforming Powder Dual Action Cleanser & Exfoliator: Starts off as a powder add some water and wah*lah a nice foamy cleanser. As for an exfoliator it was ok, I think this might be better for someone with sensitive skin. I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it.

24. Vaseline intensive care advanced repair lotion: Light pleasant scent, absorbs nicely, doesn’t leave skin greasy. Left my skin soft & hydrated.

Also come join me for #FoilFebruary on instagram . If you have a bunch of those samples see how much you can use up next month! I have tons and I’m sure I can make a huge dent in them

My thoughts:

Brisk bars have so many things I look for in a bar. First off being natural and using plants to give you an energy boost instead of those bad ingredients that make you crash. Low in sugar, having protein, & giving you an energy boost.

The bar was chewy and had a slight crunch to it. The only thing I couldn’t take was the bitter after taste. I couldn’t even finish half of a bar because of the after taste. While chewing , it was enjoyable. After swallowing , it just had a strong bitter aftertaste. Sort of like chewing coffee beans I guess is how I would describe it. I can’t tell you about the energy part because I only took a small bite & couldn’t keep going. I also gave it to my friend who was eager to try it & he didn’t like the after taste either. I would not get or eat these again.

Staying fit never tasted so good with NuGo Slim

Staying fit never tasted so good!

NuGo Slim protein bars are low sugar protein bars will keep you energized & satisfied.

  • 15-17g of protein
  • 7g of fiber
  • 5-6 net carbs
  • 2-3 g of sugar

Flavors:

  • Brownie Crunch
  • Roasted Peanut
  • Raspberry Truffle
  • Crunch Peanut Butter
  • Espresso

I tried 3 flavors:

Crunchy Peanut Butter:NuGoSlimPeanutButter

I tried crunchy peanut butter first. I do wish it had more peanut butter flavor but it was a nice combo.  I mean come on how great does that look? If I said hey this is low in suagr, high in fiber & protein you wouldn’t believe me.

Raspberry Truffle:

NuGo Slim Raspberry Truffle

If you love raspberries , go to their website and find a location near you and grab one of these now. I loved the combination of the raspberry  & dark chocolate. It was rich, decadent, indulgent, delicious with each bite treat. Out of the 3 this one was my favorite. Sweetness & chocolate= YUM!

Brownie Crunch:

Brownie Crunch

Chocolate goodness. I liked the crunch from the almonds. The almond pieces are small, you can see that in the photo above.  This one took a little effort to chew but if you think about it , its good because you can enjoy each bite. I was left satisfied after this afternoon pick me up.

You might think when you see ‘slim’ in the name , it might not taste as great. You’re wrong! I was surprised when I opened the package to see what looked like a candy bar. How can I eat this bar covered in REAL dark chocolate and it be good for me?

Its low in sugar & net carbs, high in protein & fiber. These bars also free of artificial ingredients . NuGo Slim also is low on the glycemic index, which is great for people who monitor your sugar or looking to maintain weight.

Final thoughts:

I really enjoyed these protein bars. They were my little pick me up in the afternoon. I was just thinking how is something this indulgent also good for me? I like that it is low in sugar which I try to look into.  After each bar I was left satisfied and happy & helped me over that afternoon slump. You can eat these without the guilt of a candy bar, a great alternative and better ingredients & benefits.

NuGo Nutrition has a variety of different bars you can try, see them all here . I tried the Fiber D’Lish bars which were great. So many great flavors. Find out where you can buy them here . I also  like on their site you can find the bars you are looking for based on your needs. They have a list of their vegan bars, ones that are higher in protein, organic, low glycemic & more.  You can grab a sample pack of 2-3 bars for $6-$7.

Hearty Taco Soup with chicken sausage

One of my favorite meals is taco soup.
Its hearty, filling, yummy, easy to make, cooks quickly, and it’s budget friendly.

I usually have it meatless but sometimes add diced chicken or a can of chicken.
Well within the past month I received a coupon during my checkout at Shoprite for $1.25 off fully cooked chicken sausage. I never noticed it before , probably because its where the precooked, fully cooked, sliced deli meats are. I mostly just buy chicken or ground chicken/turkey so don’t really venture too much into the other meat sections.

Well I checked it out and it was on sale. So with the coupon it was on $1.73 ( originally $3.49)

Johnsonville Chicken Sausage

I was already planning on making taco soup and thought the 3 cheese Italian style with cheese, red bells peppers, & garlic would be good in the soup. The other flavors available are: Cajun , Chipotle Monterey Jack Cheese, Apple & the 3 cheese Italian style.

What you need for the soup:
Taco Soup Ingredients

Chicken broth
Diced tomatoes
black beans, rinsed & drained
kidney beans or pinto beans, rinsed & drained
corn , drained
Taco seasoning
Avocado, diced
*Johnsonville Chicken Sausage ( keep it meatless or add any meat you’d like, already cooked)

Why is this my favorite? You just open the cans, drain & rinse the beans. The just pour it in a pot and cook until heated through. You can use as much or little broth as you want. I usually pour right above the beans & corn. You can also use vegetable broth or even water. Mix in taco seasoning and cook on medium heat.

I chopped up the chicken sausage into slices.
Johnsonville 3 cheese italian style chicken sausage

Added them to the pot. Waited until it started to boil. Turned off.

Diced up avocado.

Put soup in bowl, add diced avocado.
I sometimes add broken tortilla chip pieces for a crunch.

Carra's Taco Soup

Enjoy!

The chicken sausage made the soup a little more hearty & filling, as well as added a little extra flavor.
I would buy Johnsonville Chicken Sausage again, next I want to try the apple chicken sausage tastes. I would also use the 3 cheese Italian style in pasta dishes. Yum!

Do you make taco soup? What is your go to Winter meal?

Egg Muffins with Tater Tots

I’ve always seen those egg muffins on pinterest but never got around to making them.
I have some tater tots left after my totchos recipes so decided to make something else with them.

Ore-Ida Tater tots

Preheat oven ( I did these in a toaster oven)
You will need a cupcake pan. Spray / coat with oil.
Take 3 tater tots per cup.
I microwave them first to thaw them out.
Put in 3 in each cup, and then mash down with a spoon for fork.
Seasons with salt & pepper ( you can also do this after you take them out of the microwave)

Eff Muffins

I put the tots into the toaster oven and cooked them for 5 minutes. Take them out of oven.

Next take eggs , season, and scramble together.

Pour the eggs into the cupcake tin, I would say at least halfway because they do fluff up.
( I forgot to take a photo because I was hungry and was in a hurry to cook them so I can eat & see how they turned out)

I had leftover sauteed green & red bell pepper & a little tomato left. So I cut them up a little smaller and added them into the eggs. Also If you want them cheesy I would add the cheese to the eggs before you pour it in. I was going to add cheese on top when they were halfway cooked but they fluffed up so much, which I wasn’t expecting.

Put them back in the oven until done maybe 5-10 minutes?

I took a knife and cut around the egg muffins and they slid right out.

I love these because you can add whatever meat or veggies you want. You could also make a variety of them at the same time if you have picky eaters.

Egg Muffins

Have you made egg muffins before? What do you put in yours? What do you like making with tater tots?

Totchos with Ore-Ida Tater Tots #OreIdaTotchos #contest

Influenster sent me a great box recently and in it was a coupon to get a bag of Ore-Ida tater tots.I must say I haven’t had tater tots in a long time and forgot how yummy, convenient, & versatile they can be. On Influenster & Ore-Ida they mentioned totchos ( nachos but with tater tots as the ‘chips’). I;ve never eaten totchos or heard of them before so I gave it a go.
I ended up making breakfast totchos ( which I had as a brunch) & then Taco totchos which is great for lunch, dinner, or snack.

Taco Totochos

Ore-Ida Totchos

The night before I mixed together ground beef ( it was on sale for $1.29 at Target! Not something I normally eat often), kidney bean, black beans, 2 diced plum tomatoes, a little bit of green & red bell pepper, taco seasoning, a little water. I added this to lettuce , olives, & cheese for a salad but had some left overs.

I cooked tater tots in the oven until golden & crispy.
When done I added some lettuce on top so the tots wouldn’t get too soggy from the meat/bean mixture.
Heated up the meat/bean/veggie mix and put on top of the lettuce.
Added cheese, put back in oven until cheese is melted.
Topped with olives & avocado

Ore-Ida tatchos

What I used:
Ore-Ida tater tots

– Beef/Bean mix:
1lb Beef
15 oz can black beans , drained
15 oz can kidney beans , drained
2 plum tomatoes, diced
I had a little bit of red & green bell pepper , diced

Flipz Milk Chocolate Pretzels

Earlier this month I shared Flipz white fudge snowflake covered pretzels . I had another coupon for a free bag but was trying to find snowflakes in milk chocolate ( because they are festive) or a different flavor.
I had no luck , so I went for milk chocolate. I picked these up at Target.

Flipz Milk Chocolate

I opened up the bag when I got home and WOW! These are my new favorite snack/treat.

IMG_9822

I mentioned before I am not a fan of pretzels ( except pretzel crisps) but these have changed my mind. Well I guess as long as they are covered in yummy white fudge or chocolate. With the milk chocolate it brought out the saltiness from the pretzels , which I didn’t get from the white fudge. It was a perfect treat; crunchy, salty, & chocolate!

I wanted to eat the whole bag but I resisted, even though I really wanted to.

Flipz are officially on my radar for when I want to treat myself. Now I just have to find dark chocolate, birthday cake, & chocolate mint to see which is my favorite. So far milk chocolate is in first place.

I can’t believe I’ve always passed these up. I’ve spotted these at the Dollar Tree a few times too. On my most recent trip they were out, figures!

( For a 7 oz bag they were $2.89 at Target)

Have you tried Flipz covered pretzels? What flavor do you enjoy?

Beanfields Bean & Rice chips

Have you tried Beanfields bean & rice chips yet?
I know a lot of people have made resolutions to eat healthy or lose weight. Well that doesn’t mean you can’t have a snack.

Yes, the main ingredient in these chips are beans. Beans are both a vegetable & protein source. These bean & rice chips provide:
5 grams complete protein
6 grams of fiber
4.5 grams of fat per serving

These chips are also non-gmo project verified, gluten free, & vegan.

Find out more & check out the comparison charts how these chips stack up on their website Beanfields Snacks

There are 7 varieties of flavors to try :
beanfields flavors

I really wanted to try Pico de gallo but all the stores around me only had Sea Salt & Nacho. I will continue my hunt!

BeanfieldsChips (1)

If your store has a ‘healthy’ aisle with the natural, organic foods, that is where I found these chips.

I think they were around $3 for a 6oz bag.

These were either going to be a hit or miss. I opened up the bag and grabbed a few chips. I took a bite and they had a nice crunch to them. They sort of melt in your mouth with each bite but are still crunchy at the same time. I also liked that even though delicious; I wasn’t in a chip trance to eat the whole bag like you would doritios. I think because as you are chewing, you still have the crunch but you keep chewing to break it down to swallow. Probably from the rice & bean mix. So it kind of tricks your brain into thinking you are having more than you are and you are actually enjoying each chip . Your body recognizes hey, I had enough of those yummy chips, I’m satisfied & full now, thanks! lol

BeanfieldsChipss

Out of the 2 flavors, nacho was my favorite just because I liked the extra flavor. Which is made of recognizable ingredients like tomato powder, onion powder, paprika, green bell pepper powder, red bell pepper powder. Don’t expect to grab nacho and expect bright orange , cheesy salty chips. ( picture above is Nacho) They have a mild but tasty flavor.

Sea Salt only has a few ingredients since they are pretty much plain: Black beans, Navy beans, Organic brown rice , brown rice, safflower or sunflower oil, sea salt.

If you made a resolution to lose weight or eat healthier, I would recommend trying these chips as an alternative to the other chips out there. One of the things you shouldn’t do is deny yourself something you like. Just try to find better alternative which Beanfields bean & rice chips are.

Final thoughts:
Try a bag if you see them in stores. You feel good about eating these, they satisfy that snack craving, they are tasty, & you can read & understand the ingredient list.

I received coupons to redeem these chips for free from Beanfields Snacks. All opinions are my own.

Prism EyeShadow Palette – Sunset  $10
ElfCosmeticsSunsetPrism

ooooh ahhh

ElfPrismSwatch

This is without primer. I’m new to doing swatches , perhaps I should do with & without primer. These colors are pretty pigmented but I do have to mix them with other colors. I don’t think I could pull off just these colors because I am so pale the veins are the colors of these purples and lets just say I looked like I was up for days when I just applied one color haha. These shades are really pretty. I can see myself really using the middle 2 a lot.

elf lip remover

I know many make up enthusiasts get excited when we get a new lipstick. We want to try it on right away. Sometimes it stains or lips or the color doesn’t come off right away if its long wearing. Well that is no more. This formula gently breaks downs & removes the color. All you do it apply a small amount to your finger and apply evenly over lips. I like to use circular motions ( not needed). Leave on for about 3 seconds and then remove. Its infused with aloe & jojoba to help soothe & hydrate lips. So if you you want to swatch a few lip colors, or just get off a long wearing lipstick, this is for you.

I was surprised how well it takes of lipstick. Plus it leaves lips soft.
