NatureBoxGoodies

I like choosing new snacks when I order because new options are always popping up . My favorites are the garlic plantains & sweet & salty nut medley.

NatureBoxCollage2

I didn’t care too much for the chickpeas because they were crunchy but then had a hard piece in it so it would be nice soft crunch then ahh . Didn’t want to break a tooth!

The  mini vanilla bean wafers taste really good.  The sour cream & onion straws sort of tasted like funyons!

I like getting trail mix or nuts because they are a great mid day pick me up snack for me.

The aged cheddar lentil loops were really tasty ..perfect when you want a crunchy snack.

NatureBoxCollage

Besides the delicious snacks. Their customer service is amazing. When I moved a couple of weeks ago I miscalculated when my box was supposed to arrive by a day ( when I was half way to my destination) I was going to have a friend pick up my box but my landlord already returned to sender. I emailed them an explained what happened and they routed my box to my new location quickly.

Also a perk is these boxes are perfect to store things in & most snacks are in resealable bags!

Have you tried Naturebox ? Which snack is your favorite?  If you use my link to get the credit , let me know which snacks you chose.

Flipz Milk Chocolate Pretzels

Earlier this month I shared Flipz white fudge snowflake covered pretzels . I had another coupon for a free bag but was trying to find snowflakes in milk chocolate ( because they are festive) or a different flavor.
I had no luck , so I went for milk chocolate. I picked these up at Target.

Flipz Milk Chocolate

I opened up the bag when I got home and WOW! These are my new favorite snack/treat.

IMG_9822

I mentioned before I am not a fan of pretzels ( except pretzel crisps) but these have changed my mind. Well I guess as long as they are covered in yummy white fudge or chocolate. With the milk chocolate it brought out the saltiness from the pretzels , which I didn’t get from the white fudge. It was a perfect treat; crunchy, salty, & chocolate!

I wanted to eat the whole bag but I resisted, even though I really wanted to.

Flipz are officially on my radar for when I want to treat myself. Now I just have to find dark chocolate, birthday cake, & chocolate mint to see which is my favorite. So far milk chocolate is in first place.

I can’t believe I’ve always passed these up. I’ve spotted these at the Dollar Tree a few times too. On my most recent trip they were out, figures!

( For a 7 oz bag they were $2.89 at Target)

Have you tried Flipz covered pretzels? What flavor do you enjoy?

harvest mix

Harvest Nut Mix
What’s in it? : Peanuts , Wild Rice Sticks, Almonds, Edamame, Toasted Corn , Sesame Sticks
I loved this trail mix. It was crunchy, a little bit of salt… a perfect snack. I don’t think I’ve had toasted corn before, was great. Also liked the wild rice sticks in this mix.

guacamole bites

Guacamole Bites
What’s in it? : Yellow Corn Masa, Soybean Oil, Guacamole Seasoning

I am 50/50 on this one. It was pretty good but something about it was off for me to want to get it again. I could only eat a small handful each time. I even put some in my taco soup for some extra crunch.

fruit strips

Double Berry Fruit Peels
What’s in it? : Concentrated Apple Puree and Juice, Concentrated Raspberry Juice, Concentrated Blueberry Juice, Black Carrot Juice Concentrate, Pectin, Glaze (coconut oil, cellulose).

Pretty yummy! Actually tasted like fruit and not just sugar like other fruit snacks. It was a little sticky though. I liked that they came in individual packages.

sweet mix naturebox

Sweet & Simple Berry Nut Mix
What’s in it?: Blueberry Flavored Dried Cranberries, Cashews, Almonds, Peanut Oil, Salt.

I enjoyed this mix but felt like the nuts lost the crunch due to the dried cranberries. I also wish there were more almonds & cashews in the mix. I would get it again though. It was very good , especially when you get a craving for something sweet.

naturebox chocolate chip banana chips

Chocolate Banana Chips
What’s in it?:Bananas, Palm Oil, Natural Flavor.

These were ok. When I picked them I thought what is not to love about chocolate & bananas. I don’t think I would get these again. My friend liked them though. I wonder how these would taste in ice cream or even yogurt.

South Pacific Plantains
What’s in it?:Plantains, Non-hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Sea Salt

I really like these. They sort of taste like a potato chip… but much healthier without that weird healthy chip taste though.

Have you tried Naturebox before?

Snacking with Almond Nut Thins

I’ve seen these in stores many times but never tried them before.

A little about these nut & rice crackers :
130 calories for 16 crackers
No added wheat gluten
3 grams of protein ( from almonds)
No cholesterol
No saturated fat
Low sodium

I love the crunch and crispy texture to these crackers. Perfect for dipping & building without worrying about them breaking apart since they are sturdy crackers.
Nut Thins Crackers

I first used them with my favorite go to snack…garlic hummus.
The creamy texture of the hummus with the crispy texture of the cracker made it a perfect combo.

Blue Diamond Almond Nut Thins

I wanted something warm & cheesy!
I made a caprese dip of some sort

mozzarella dip

What you need

Mozzarella cheese if you get a block cube it or shredded cheese ( 8-10 oz)

2-3 roma tomatoes seeded & juiced and diced

Fresh basil or dried .. I used Italian seasoning about 1 tablespoon. If using fresh you can add a little more

A little bit of fresh spinach cut up small

Directions

Preheat oven to 375F
Put in baking dish and mix together.
Bake for about 15 minutes, until cheese is melted , browned, & bubbly
*Optional I sprinkled a little classic Italian seasoning parmesan cheese
Put back in oven for about 2 minutes under broiler

Take your nut thin crackers and scoop. So gooey & yummy. So simple & easy to make too! No need to worry about it breaking on the way to your mouth.

You can add whatever really…even pepperoni and make it a pizza dip.

There is a variety of flavors to choose from so there is something for everyone.
Hint of Sea Salt
Almond
Pecan
Smokehouse
Cheddar Cheese
Country Ranch
Pepper Jack Cheese

What would you eat with nut thin crackers?

Summer = time for S’mores so yummy

Sunday was just one of those days, not in a good mood, wanted to be off work and just really wanted a drink. My aunt was having a bbq and wah*lah Margaritas. I had a few (hehe) as I looked off at the calm lake 🙂

I also made this yummy Frozen Reese’s Peanut Butter Pie

No photo but it was a hit. I also made one without the reeses cups the other day. I didn’t have a springform pan so I used one of those aluminum throw away pie tins. Came out fine 🙂

New work outs I’ve been doing from Blogilates!

She has a Bikini blaster series…love it! I’m so glad I found her blog. ( linked above)

My co-worker/friend Hanna came over Friday and made some Kale chips! They were so good. I tried to make them and they did not turn out good at all. I saw a recipe that added lemon juice and I believe I put too much. Ill make some today and post a picture, it’s so simple and easy to make.

;

Preheat oven to 350

Rinse Kale off, shake dry ( or with paper towel/towel)

Rip into small pieces and place in bowl ( cracker size or or little bit bigger)

Add a little bit of olive oil, just enough to coat

Sprinkle with salt

Place on cookie sheet and place in oven

Now you have to watch them…..don’t get distracted ( like I sometime easily do haha) I’d say about 5 minutes, just open oven and feel them if they are crunchy on the edges they are done. You can play around to bake them to your liking. Wah*lah a yummy healthy snack.

While Hanna was making the Kale chips, I was making dinner. Salmon, Broccoli & Carrots with cous cous.

After that we headed to see Snow white & the Huntsman. I thought it was a good move, I loooove Charlize. Though I wish there was a little more emotion or connection over all it was pretty good.
