#FoilFebruary – week 2

Week two of project use up samples.

I’ve been trying not to use too many at the same time because I want to know how the product works with my skin. I also have been doing this in case I have an allergic reaction or break out I can somewhat pin point it.

Foil February

This week: 18

Chanel- Hydra Beauty Micro Serum : Loved the smell, easy to apply, absorbed well, left skin hydrated. Skin looked & felt great after using it.

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil:  I like that it is multi-purpose, natural, & organic. Use it on your skin, hair, & nails. Left skin smooth & soft

Smashbox photo finish foundation primer : Skin felt velvety smooth & soft.

Thierry Mugler- Alien perfume : When I sprayed it on I wasn’t a fan but once it settled I really liked it

Garnier BB Cream:  I actually have a full size bottle that I barely use.  It’s in light/ medium. I don’t know if it is the formula or the color but it just a little off for me. I feel like its a little dark and doesn’t really blend into my skin as well.

Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield – I’ve been wanting to try a visiblur product since Ive been seeing them pop up from many brands. I like that it has SPF 30. It went on nice, it did ‘blur’ the skin evening it out. Which was pretty cool. The first day I used it it was fine but then then second day it clumped up my make up. Not sure if I used too much the second day or what the deal was. Sometimes its hard to tell how a product works with small samples.

Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture:  Skin felt and looked great after. Absorbed nicely into skin. Skin looked healthy & felt smooth.

Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15- My skin isn’t too oily , sometimes in the T zone. I didn’t care for the fomula . It was a little difficult to spread over my face.

Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser- Worked nicely but I don’t think I would get a full size. The formula was a little thinner than I like. My skin did feel/look clean, felt soft, and it was also gentle on my skin.

Kleenex facial cleansing wipes- I think this would be better for summer time or sports to refresh your face. It did an okay job at removing make up. It did irritate my skin felt itchy so wouldn’t buy these in the future.

Nivea in shower body lotion Cocoa Butter/ Nourishing : They are ok, I don’t see the point in buying these for myself.  Did an okay job at moisturizing. Don’t love them or hate them.  I did like the smell of the cocoa butter.

N4 Hydrating Body Lotion: Little thinner than I like my lotion , good job at keep skin soft, hydrated, & smooth.

Juice Beauty:

  1. Green Apple Brightening Gel Cleaner: LOVED the smell so refreshing, lightly lathers, face feel clean, gentle on skin.
  2. Green Apple Age Defy Serum: Has an odd scent. Easy to apply and spread. Make sure to follow up with a moisturizer.
  3. Green Apple Age Defy Moisturizer : Did’t care for the formula, difficult to spread. Skin did look & feel good

#FoilFebruary – Week One

Project use up samples, week one.

I’ve been sick most of the week so didn’t use a lot. I could barely eat let alone care about my beauty routine this week.

#FoilFebruary samples

Charlotte Tilbury Magic cream Treat & Transform Moisturizer : Had stuffy nose and could smell SPF in it. Left skin a little greasy looking but did leave it soft and moisturized. It is expensive for a full sized so don’t see myself buying this.

Simple micellar cleansing water – used 2 that I had . Hard to tell if what it even did.
L’oreal age perfect glow renewal – left skin soft , healthy dewy skin , hydrated, & glowy . Would consider getting a full size bottle .
First aid beauty – ultra repair cream
Worked great on my nose when it was all gross from blowing my nose non stop for a few days. It pretty much made all the dry skin disappear in 2 days . It says head from toe so far I’ve used it on my face seems to be ok. If you get sick & your nose gets raw or dry , use this to make it better. No stinging just healing.
Premier ageless future cell renual cream – skin felt silky smooth and soft , especially when I woke up
Nivea in-shower body lotion- I don’t know if I really care for it. Hard to tell with one use. Also the tub does get slippery .
Nivea Extended Moisture lotion– Skin feels good, it is a little thinner than I like
Boscia detoxifying black cleanser – felt a little warm, cleansed skin well, skin didn’t feel tight afterwards
Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Brazilian Smooth– One thing I love about their hair care is it smells good. Lathered up nicely, hair feels, & looks good. Helps with frizz and leaves hair REALLY soft.
Garnier Clean Black head eliminating scrub– smelled a little like mens aftershave. Foamed up nicely, gentle on skin, left skin cleansed & soft.

Empties 4- mini reviews

15 .Crest Pro-Health Advanced Mouthwash- I did a review on this not to long ago. I wasn’t a fan of the after taste. It messes with your taste buds ( even after an hour +) so food & drinks will taste odd. Perhaps if you are trying to lose weight it good help lol but I would not get this kind again.

16. Maxasorb B-12 cream: This is made in the USA & with natural ingredients. Its supposed to help promote energy levels & also helps with dry skin. As far as energy the peppermint in it did help wake me up a bit but it wore off quickly. It has coconut oil in it and leave skin really soft & absorbs nicely. It is $19.95 which is expensive for the 30 doses. Not worth it for me. This company does have a melatonin cream similar to this that is AMAZING! Both can be found on Amazon.

17. Align Probiotic supplement: Easy to take & swallow. No weird smell. Helps you stay regular and helps keep your digestive tract healthy. Thumbs up

18. Pantene Pro-V Ultimate 10 BB Creme: Love this stuff! You can use it on damp & dry hair. It repairs, strengthens, soft, shine, smooths, moisturizes, heat protection, tames fly-aways. Doesn’t weight hair down or leave hair sticky. Leaves hair really soft & healthy looking. I have a little sample container that I fill up with this so if I have any fly-aways mid-day I use this.

19. One A Day multivitamin: ughhh these took forever probably because I was bad at taking them daily. These were so huge which were a pain to swallow. So glad I am done. I wouldn’t get this kind again. I moved on to easy to take gummy vitamins.

20. Caudalie Premier Cru The Elixir: Wasn’t sure what to expect with this dry oil. It is $99 for .98 oz. so don’t see myself running to buy it. I really enjoyed the sample though. My skin felt nourished & soft after applying. It also absorbed quickly & didn’t leave skin greasy or oily.

21. Maybelline FitMe Foundation: One of my favorite foundations. The color matches my skin tone well. It blends nicely, gives a nice sheer coverage which I want. I also like that it doesn’t feel like I have foundation on my face. Plus it has SPF18

22. Rimmel Scandaleye Rockin Curves Mascara: Like the tube, formula, brush. It has a curved brush that helps lift, volumize , lengthens, and get the smaller lashes. I do wish it separated lashes a little better. Its around $7-$8 which is average. Also no flaking!

23. Murad Transforming Powder Dual Action Cleanser & Exfoliator: Starts off as a powder add some water and wah*lah a nice foamy cleanser. As for an exfoliator it was ok, I think this might be better for someone with sensitive skin. I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it.

24. Vaseline intensive care advanced repair lotion: Light pleasant scent, absorbs nicely, doesn’t leave skin greasy. Left my skin soft & hydrated.

Also come join me for #FoilFebruary on instagram . If you have a bunch of those samples see how much you can use up next month! I have tons and I’m sure I can make a huge dent in them

Empties 3- Mini Reviews

Empties Review

1.Align Probiotic – Not too much to say about these. I actually took these after my mom left because I was eating a lot more food and food I don’t normally have a lot of especially in a weeks time like beef, bacon, fried food, chinese, pizza lol.

2.Hair Food- Clairol Moisture hair mask infused with honey apricot fragrance. I originally found out about this from Influenster then got one in my Target beauty box. I LOVE how soft my hair feels after using this. It also helps with frizz. If you have thick or textured hair definitely try it out. It can be found at Target.

3. DDF Micro-Derma Crystals– Like the small crystals, easy to use, & gives skin a nice glow. The only con is it is expensive. ( $50) I feel like there are exfoliators that are just as good for half or even a fraction of the cost.

4.Skinfix hand cream I love how this makes my hands feel , really soft & smooth. On the other hand it left my hands greasy & has an odd smell.

5. Philosophy Amazing Grace firming body emulsion- Left my skin really soft & hydrated all day. Absorbed nicely, didn’t leave skin greasy. I didn’t care for this scent though. For me it was to perfumey

6. Philosophy Amazing Grace shampoo, bath, & shower gel– I wasn’t a fan of this product. As a shampoo it didn’t clean my hair well at all. It worked better as a bath/shower gel but like the other Amazing Grace product I didn’t care for the scent. It just reminded me of an old grandmas home who loves potpourri

7. Perfume sample (from survey test)- smelled really good no idea what brand/ name wish I did though

8. Skin Village 9 – Supper Puppy Whitening Mask. Sheet mask didn’t fit well, but stayed on. Skin felt nice afterwards. Didn’t really look a lot like a puppy and it sort of freaked out my cat Gizmo haha

sheet mask

9. Patchology Hydrate flashmasque- It really does hydrate well. It fit well on my face, stayed on. Face felt soft afterwards, when I woke up my skin looked really healthy and still soft & smooth.

Patchology Sheet Mask

10.CURA skincare complexion catalyst creme WOW! Nice & creamy. I woke up and my face felt & looked fantastic. Absorbed nicely into skin. Face was soft, smooth, hydrated.

11. Arm & Hammer, Truly Radiant Rejivenating toothpaste Left teeth & mouth clean, teeth white but I do prefer the whitening & enamel strengthening.

12. Milani nail polish – pretty pearly white – (its old & it leaked )

13. Flat White – came in a kit – not too much to say about it ( old , clumpy so was time to toss it)

14.Aveeno daily moisturing sheer hydration lotion-  Didn’t have much of a scent, I do prefer a thicker consistency but kept skin soft & hydrated.

Empties Mini Review

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

I’ve always wondered how this moisturizer would work with my skin.

I loved it, I would actually buy this regularly. It was creamy , absorbed quickly, kept skin soft & moisturized.

When I woke up my face felt & looked great. Definitely reccommend

Ole Henriksen empower featherweight moisturizer

Eh this was ok. It was thinner than I expected , I prefer my moisturizers a little thicker. Didn’t love it , Didn’t hate it. Left skin a little sticky. Wouldnt buy a full size

Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30

I used to use this one often but switched to clear complexion. I have been using Aveeno for years and it is one of my favorite moisturizers. It leaves my skin looking & feeling great. Absorbs nicely, doesn’t leave skin greasy, doesn’t mess with my make up. Skin feels smooth & soft.

Egg Essence Mask Sheet Mask – Esfolio ( from Beauteque)

Egg Essence Mask

Masks are so creepy! lol

Korean skincare has been trending here in the U.S. I was lucky enough and won a fantastic variety of Korean skincare products. I decided to try out this mask first. So expect at least one of these creepy mask selfies in my upcoming empties mini reviews.

-Helps with elasticity & moisturization. Contains egg yolk extract

I like that it has slits on the bottom so you can fit it better to your face.

-The smell was a little perfumey for me but not overpowering or bad

-It was very wet , stayed in place ( even with me walking around)

– Keep on 15 to 20 minutes

– Massage left over product on your skin

I woke up with really soft, moisturized skin. It even looked a little brighter.

Maybelline FitMe concealer

I love this stuff. Its affordable, color matches my skintone perfectly, easy to blend, stays on all day. Always make sure I have it in my beauty arsenal

Dial Coconut Water Foam soap

Loved the smell, like the foam, didn’t dry out hands. Enjoyed using it

ChapStick moisturizer hydration lock

Can you believe I finished a chapstick? lol Left lips smooth & hydrated. Didn’t need to constantly apply

Empties – Mini Reviews

I get a lot of samples & products ( as you can see from my freebie, deals, & prizes) posts.

I started doing little reviews my instagram but thought I should start sharing on my blog too!

Empties review

Herbal Essences Naked shampoo & conditioner: I really liked these. For some reason other Herbal Essences ( shampoo/condioner) never really gives my hair a good wash.  Naked is totally different though, it left my hair really clean without stripping my natural oils. My hair looked and felt great. Nice smell too.

Udderly Smooth Foot Cream:  I love this stuff! Its so creamy and thick. I like putting it on my feet before bed, put on socks and wake up and my feet are super soft and moisturized.

Derma E Hydrating Day Creme– a little thinner than my normal moisturizer, nice subtle scent, left skin really soft & moisturized, & a little went a long way.

Kate Somerville Retasphere– Received a sample from Sephora. You use it at night, it left skin a little shiny/ oily looking but eventually absorbed in. You use it at night so I would just put it on before bed. Though I didn’t see results , it was a sample but when I woke up my skin felt fantastic. It was plump and really soft.

Dr Brandt PoreDermabrasion– lovely peppermint scent, doesn’t irritate skin  like other exfoliators. I like that it is on the small side because I feel like it cleans you skin better and really cleans out pores.  ( con: its expensive for a full size)

Yesto grapefruit correct & repair pore perfection paper mask.

It smelled like chemicals when I opened it up. I was surprised by the green color of the mask. It didn’t fit my face well, too big. I did have fun taking selfies with it. I was channeling Jim Carrey in The Mask  Didn’t really notice anything ( was my 1st one)

I’ve been buying shampoo and conditioner ( for free) and get lots of samples but I’ve been getting a lot of shampoo & conditioner to test for survey sites I belong to.

(Tester) Shampoo– brand unknown but I enjoyed using it, cleaned my hair without striping it, smelled great, nice lather

(Tester) Body wash– another one from a survey site. It smelled great but was a little on the thin side. Left skin clean, moisturized , soft.

What are some good… or bad product you’ve tried lately?
