You might be thinking.. What is nutritional yeast & why would I eat it?

Nutritional yeast is a deactivated yeast & fungus. Sari Foods nutritional yeast is grown on molasses, it is 100% whole food based & naturally occurring. Its a complete protein. It is also a good source of B vitamins, which is why nutritional yeast is a hit with vegans.

Its non-gmo, gluten free, low sodium, vegan, kosher, dairy free, non msg

Sari Foods Nutritional Yeast is naturally comprised of 50% protein, over 20% fiber, contains all 18 amino acids and 15 different minerals (including iron, selenium and zinc) as well as a natural vitamin B-complex and Beta-glucans (known for their extreme immune enhancing properties plus their ability to lower bad cholesterol)

Its great alternative for vegans, if you’re lactose intolerant, or cutting back on dairy.

Adding it to your diet may help:
*Fight aging, promote cellular repair and guard free radicals
*Curb appetite & promote natural & healthy weight loss
*Boost immune system, energy levels, & overall sense of well being
*Increase memory, clarity, & mental function
*Improve sleep, reduce insomnia, depression, & ongoing fatigue
*Balance hormones, improve mood, & reduce feeling of irritability
*Reduce the risk of heat disease, stroke, & some cancers

Taste & texture:

It reminds me of a mix between parmesan cheese & finer bread crumbs.
The taste is somewhat cheesy & nutty.

How to use it:
Sprinkle it on popcorn
Sprinkle it on french fries ( I made my own french fries in oven , then sprinkled on top )
Stir it in mashed potatoes
Sprinkle on top of pasta
Make your own vegetable boullion powder with it as an ingredient DIY Veggie Boullion
Use it with tacos, in dips, on salads- use your imagination… or google, pinterest 🙂

Final thoughts:
Since I’ve been trying to eat more meat & dairy free I’ve seen nutritional yeast mentioned in a handful of recipes so was always interested in trying it. So when I had an opportunity to review it , it was perfect. I like that it is a packed with B vitamins and is a good source of protein. I LOVE cheese, who doesn’t right ? I mean sure nutritional yeast is not the same as eating ‘real cheese’ but it does add great flavor to anything you add it too. I think the more you stay away from ‘real cheese’ the more nutritional yeast will fill that void. Its a good way to eat a little healthier but not exactly give up flavor. Can’t wait to use this in a bunch of recipes.
